Options Trainer and flostinato.app · Last updated: 13 October 2026

We do not receive any personal data from the Options Trainer app — it sends nothing to us. There is no account, no server of ours and no analytics. What that means in detail — including for this website and for emails to us — is set out below.

1. The app

Data collected by us

None. We do not receive or store any personal data. The store services the app uses (purchase, age signal, rating dialog) process data under their own responsibility, as described below. The app has no registration, no sign-in and no user profile. It does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, photos or an advertising ID.

Data stored on your device

So you can pick up where you left off, the app keeps a few values in the device's local app storage (prefix flostinato:):

On iPhone, iPad and Android the app additionally keeps a copy of these values in the app's own settings storage on the device (UserDefaults on iOS, SharedPreferences on Android), so that the operating system cannot discard your progress when storage runs low.

These values never leave the device. We cannot read them and they are not backed up to any service we run. The app's active storage is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its storage. Separately, your operating system's device backup (for example iCloud Backup or Google backup) may contain a copy under your own account and can restore it later; how long that copy is kept is decided by Apple or Google, and we have no access to it.

Buying the full version

The download is free; the full version is an in-app purchase. Purchase and payment are handled entirely by the store — the App Store (Apple Distribution International Ltd, Ireland), Google Play (Google Commerce Ltd, Ireland) or the Microsoft Store (Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd). We never see payment details. At start-up and when you tap "Restore purchase", the app asks the store's interface on your device whether the full version belongs to your store account. The store processes this under its own responsibility; see the privacy policies of Apple, Google and Microsoft. No data is sent to us.

Age signal (only where the law requires it)

In regions whose laws require app developers to check an age signal (currently Texas and Brazil), the app asks the operating system for the age range that Apple or Google has on record: on iPhone and iPad through Apple's "Declared Age Range" dialog, on Android through Google Play. The result is used only to respect a parent's decision and is kept in memory while the app runs; it is never stored or sent anywhere. Elsewhere the app does not ask.

Rating request

After you have answered at least ten tasks correctly on at least two different days, the app may ask the operating system to show the store's own rating dialog (Apple App Store, Google Play or Microsoft Store), at most three times a year (counted on this device; clearing the app's storage resets the count). Whether the dialog appears is decided by the store. If you leave a rating or review, it goes directly to that store under its privacy policy; the app receives nothing. To decide when to ask, the app keeps only a counter of correct answers and the dates of past requests on your device.

Network connections

Lessons, translations, charts, fonts and images are bundled with the app; it works in airplane mode. The app never connects to a server of ours. It talks only to the store's interface on your device — for the purchase, the licence check / restore, the age signal where the law requires it and, as described above, the store's rating dialog.

Third parties

The app contains no advertising networks, no analytics or telemetry SDKs and no social-media integration. We do not sell, rent or transfer any data. Apple, Google and Microsoft provide us with aggregated store statistics such as download counts (Apple only from users who agreed to share analytics with app developers). If you share crash reports through the operating system, we can view them in the store console; they contain technical device data (model, OS version) but no names or contact details.

2. This website

flostinato.app is served by Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc., USA; transfers based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework). When you visit, Cloudflare processes technically necessary connection data such as IP address, time, requested page and browser identifier to deliver the site and protect it against attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare acts as our processor; the retention period is determined by Cloudflare, and we do not store this data ourselves. We use no cookies, no analytics and no embedded third-party content.

3. Contacting us by email

If you write to [email protected], we process your email address and message to answer you (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). We delete the message once the matter is closed, unless statutory retention duties (for example for business correspondence under commercial and tax law) require longer storage.

Children

The app is intended for adults. We receive no data from anyone, regardless of age.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR). Where we hold data about you at all — in practice only after email contact — a message to the address above is enough. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.

Changes

If a future version introduces a feature that needs data, this page will be updated first and the change described in the release notes.
